25&26) New UNESCO heritage sites listed.
Iran was awarded two new sites in the 2021 UNESCO listings. The Trans-Iranian Railway in Iran was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2021. It connects the Caspian Sea in the northeast with the Persian Gulf. The cultural landscape of the Hawraman/Uramanat is remote and mountainous and is testament to the traditional culture of the Hawrami people.
