Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport was launched in 2004. It is the largest airport in Iran. It has flight connections to 40 different destinations worldwide.

All international flight except Haj charter is hosted by the IKA while all domestic flights are landed at Mehrabad International Airport.

Tehran airport has two passenger terminals; Terminal 1 and Salam Terminal (Terminal 2).

At Terminal 1, you can find ATMs, banks, exchange, duty-free shops, information desk, medical services, mobile charger, prayer room, supermarket, luggage wrapping, lost & found, smoking lounge, and children’s play area.

Salam Terminal is newly established at the Tehran airport. It is the sole international terminal in the Imam Khomeini International Airport. There are 52 service counters and nine boarding gates. ATMs, banking services, exchange, duty-free stores, medical facilities, prayer rooms, and mobile chargers are available at the terminal.

Aeroflot, AnadoluJet, Armenia Airways, ATA Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Bravo Airways, Buta Airways, Cham Wings Airlines, Emirates, Flydubai, Iran Air, and Iran Aseman Airlines are some of the airlines.

IKA airport is 40 km of Tehran-Qom Freeway in the southwest of Tehran. A separate access road leads to the airport.  

There you can find public transportation including taxi, shuttle, as well as the metro station.

Outside the terminal, you can find fixed-rate taxis. You can also reserve a taxi in advance. The rate of taxi depends on its model.

If you want to travel around Tehran by flight, you should continue your trip via Mehrabad International Airport in the western part of Tehran. There are shuttle buses at the IKA that you can take to the Mehrabad airport.

The line 8 Tehran metro connects Tehran international airport to Tehran. The line connects south to north.

At the airport, there are banks on the airside and landside. There are some exchange offices at the airport as well. As you may know, international credit cards are not available in Iran. So you should bring your money in cash or you can also provide a credit card in Iran.
