Overview

Village tours are among the most popular ones for travelers who are into having a close exposure to local culture. During this one-day excursion to the splendid village of Kandovan, we will visit the amazingly built stone carved homes, making a unique landscape. This daily tour is a great chance to get to know the lifestyle, traditions and customs of a large majority of Iranians who speak Azeri and widely spread in the whole country.

Located in the mountainous north-western Iran, close to Tabriz, locals in this village have their own specific lifestyle since hundreds of years ago. Having freezing winters, the area is even cold during the summer and one of the best parts of the country to visit during hot season. On this tour, we will explore the village itself by spending some time in a local home and having our lunch. Also, we will stroll in the village to explore its uniqueness. A small hiking on a hill near it, helps us to get the best view possible of the total structure of Kandovan.

As you know, the diversity of ethnics and cultures in Iran is truly wide. In case you are interested in discovering more about a large population of Iranian Azeris and visit a distinctive village, do not hesitate to book this tour!

Tour duration is from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Kandovan tour

Altho I agree to let the locals live there, maintaining the village as a tourist site is important which I think they need to work on it more. some beautiful area of the village is occupied by local which could be managed wisely in a more proper way. worth visiting

Rocky village of Kandovan Tabriz

One of the best Rocky villages I have been to so far. They maintained the rural texture of the city as still some locals living there with primitive conditions which are amazing. some sold souvenir as well. Seems the soil and stone material is somehow that can be hacked by handmade tools. special experience in Iran.

I had enjoyable tour and our Tour Guide named Shima was fantastic. She was very polite and friendly also knowledgeable. You will see the rock formations in Kandovan and this tour is inclusive of lunch buffet. We went to pottery and handmade institute. It was a wonderful experience!
