Overview

Nomads’ lifestyle is of a great interest for most people especially tourists who have always lived in big cities. During this one-day experience tour, we will drive to a nomadic village in the suburbs of Shiraz to live a day just like a local person living there. Qashqai nomads have an amazing lifestyle which depends heavily on natural resources and is of-course a healthy one compared to the lives of the majority of the world population.

We will start our tour by driving to Firuzabad and paying a short visit to Ardashir Babakan Palace from Sassanid era. Then, we will continue our way to Kazerun and joining the Qashqai nomad family to stay with them for the day. We will have a quality time to get engaged with their life by having cultural exchange with them, shepherding their herd of livestock, weaving handicrafts with nomad women, watching them prepare their tasty organic dairy and local food and a lot more depending on the day of the visit and their plans for the day.

Staying with local nomads till the early evening, we will have our homemade organic dinner after sunset and drive back to shiraz. Do not hesitate to get sure you are not missing this wonderful experience in your Iran trip.

Tour duration is from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm and it’s available from October to March.

We will drive towards Kazerun (a distance of about 140 km) to meet the nomad family whom we are going to spend the day with. En-route, we will visit Ardeshir Babakan Palace dating back to Sassanid Empire and well-known for its unique architecture. Later on, we will drive to the nomad family place to have lunch and live the rest of the day with them.

In high season months like April, May, September, and October hotels, tours and driver guides will be sold out very soon. Hence, it is better to book your trip as soon as you can.

The tour starts in Shiraz by picking you up and finishes in Shiraz by drop off in your location.

All tours and classes are conducted in English. However, if you’d like to have it in any other language, we can arrange for a translator upon an extra fee in any language required.

Staying with local, Qashqai

An amazing local experience in Iran. as a university lecturer, middle east is a jewel of ancient culture, some untouchable traditions that you cannot find anywhere else. Iran Qashqai nomad is one of them. Finally I learnt how to milk a goat BTW haha

Nomadic Qashqai

We visited the Qashqai nomad in Shiraz, with my boyfriend. It is an amazing experience and highly recommended. We did a dromedary ride. The sunset on the dunes is magical. We rest in a private tent for us in the middle of nature. They were very friendly to us, singing, dancing and explaining many things. Very good experience!!! Thanks for all Ibrahim.

Qashqai nomad tour

Lots of nomad experience like cooking bread, checking animals and feeding them, making butter manually and so on besides yummy foods. highly recommend to nature lovers
