There is a part in Lut desert named Shahdad Kalut, Shahdad is the name of a city in the southeast of Kerman Province. The city is full of date palm trees and many historical and natural attractions can be found.
One of these natural attractions is Kaluts, one of the greatest geological phenomena located 40km southeast of the city Shahdad. The giant Kalut wall structures are shaped by salty water and wind over the course of 20,000 years. It’s interesting to know that there are some evidences that Kalut desert is one of the hottest places on earth.

- Since it's in southern Iran and it will be too hot from June to September, be sure to carry sunglasses, sunscreen and hats to protect yourself from the sun.
- Wearing comfortable shoes is highly recommended.

There is no heavy physical activity on this tour. you will have some mild trekking to explore the Kaluts and surroundings.
Is it possible to book this trip with some of my friends?

Camping in desert
So cold night there. recommended to be accompanied by a pro tourguide no matter you are a professional hiker or skillful in camping outdoors. Our tourguide showed us some wonderful locations for photoshopping which it would take ages for us to find ourselves without his guidance.

A fascinating experience with lots of good memories, thanks to all my Iranian friends accompany me on this tour. The Desert was mysteriously beautiful. highly recommend putting the Kalut desert in your itinerary.
