Nomad & Culture
As a place of socialization in the past, hammams were of great importance to the people. Many of these cleaning centers have been destroyed or left abandoned during the last few decades. However, Qazi Hammam in Isfahan is among those few traditional ones which are renovated and used to provide the fans with a unique experience. The Hammam is a museum by itself letting you be soaped, scrubbed and massaged in the way ancient Persians used to be.
Getting yourself washed and cleaned in a traditional Persian style, will remove the whole fatigue and dirt away from your body. During this tour, you will hear the long history behind the bathhouse culture of Iranians while visiting the aesthetic beauty of a historical one with all its special elements.
Qazi Hammam consists of two separate parts one to be used by ladies and the other for gentlemen. Each space has its own specific parts of Sarbineh, Miandar, Garmkhaneh and Khazineh which are the famous parts of a Persian style hammam from the time you arrive at the place till leaving. For a short introduction, Sarbineh is the entrance part where you will take your clothes off, Miandar is the hallway connecting Sarbineh to the next phase’s space, Garmkhaneh is the main heated space where the actual washing and cleaning will take place (including the usage of body scrub and massage) and Khazineh is the last part, a place like a jacuzzi/pool where you can finalize your hammam ritual.
Tour duration is for 2 hours, any time from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
